Über Mich

Mein künstlerisches Schaffen beruht auf der Erkundung meine emotionalen Wahrnehmung der Natur. Nicht die Natur selbst wird abgebildet, sondern ihre Abstraktion und die Gefühle die sie in mir auslöst.

Mein Farbkonzept, meine expressiven Pinselstriche und gestural marks stehen symbolisch für die Natur, ihre Bewegung und verkörpern zudem Naturvorgänge und -phänomene. 

In meiner Kunst verbinde ich verschiedene Techniken. Ich arbeite mit Öl-, Acryl-, Aquarell-und Pastellfarben. In meiner Faserkunst, färbe, sticke, male und nähe ich verschiedene Stoffe und kleine, gefundene Objekte zusammen. Das Ganze ergibt ein Zusammenspiel verschiedenster Texturen.

Im Wesentlichen setze ich mich in meiner Arbeit, mit der Beziehung zwischen Mensch und Natur in ihrer Einheit, unseren Platz darin und wie sie unser Leben beeinflusst, auseinander.

 

Biographie:

Seit 20 Jahren bin ich Künstlerin und Kunstlehrerin. Ich komme aus Colorado, wo ich als Kind viel Zeit mit Wandern und dem Auskundschaften der Berge und der Prärie verbrachte. Dieses Erlebnis flößt mich ein und stellt einen Zusammenhang her. Ich habe Kunst an der Universität studiert, hauptsächlich Malen, Zeichnen und abstrakter Expressionismus. Jetzt kreiere ich abstrakte Bilder, Zeichnungen und Stoffwerke. Meiner Kunst hat in vielen Einzelausstellungen und Gruppenausstellungen durch Amerika ausgestellt. Ich unterrichte beim Curtis Center for the Arts.
